Echo privacy

Echo is an on-device reminder app. It does not require an account and does not send your notes or settings to Echo’s developer. The app contains no ads or analytics SDKs.

Information kept on your device

Echo stores note text, reminder times, completion history, and preferences in a database on your device. Text you choose to send to Echo through a share sheet is held locally so Echo can add it to a note. Echo does not use a cloud account or developer-operated server.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Echo supplies your device’s operating system with the note text and timing needed to display reminders and notification actions. Depending on your device settings, note text may appear on your lock screen. You can change notification access in your device settings. On Android, you can optionally grant special access for precisely timed reminders; without it, reminders may arrive later.

Home Screen widgets

If you add an Echo widget, Echo stores a small on-device snapshot containing your active-note count and up to three note texts so the operating system can display the widget. This snapshot stays within Echo’s app or shared app-group storage. Note text displayed by a widget may be visible to anyone who can see your Home Screen. Removing the widget does not delete your notes from Echo.

Your controls and retention

You can delete active notes, clear completed notes from the list, and choose how long completed notes remain in Echo. Deleted and cleared notes disappear from the list immediately and are removed from Echo’s database after the brief Undo period, or on the next launch if interrupted. Completion counts remain after completed notes are cleared. Uninstalling Echo removes its app data from the device, subject to any device backup you have enabled.

Other services

Your device provider may handle notifications and backups under its own privacy terms. Echo does not sell or share your information with third parties.
